Common Sense and Politeness

Pengy.ORG is a simple place: I write -- you read. I have noticed that the first admendment of the United States Constitution is a rather important thing. It seems to me that the right to hold ideas contray to what is popular and then express those ideas is one of the reasons America is a stronger country than most. I am not afraid to hold those contrary ideas and take a stand. I am not afraid to challenge an established icon or idea. I am not afraid to take an unpopular stance. The unpopular is not always wrong any more than the popular is always right. By choosing my point-of-view and then expressing it, I open the channel of communication with those who disagree. A rational, logical, and friendly debate should follow. This site is all about communication and learning to see things differently. Good communication can change the opinion of many minds. You may even change my opinion. Don't laugh: it's been known to happen.

While I'm not out to offend anyone, I recognize that some of you will choose to be offended anyway. There is a contingent of people in this world who like to be offended, choosing that emotion often and, unfortunately, with malice, suing any who disagree with the way they see things. Instant moral outrage is indicative of a weak thinking mind and isn't likely to garner much respect in the world. It will garner no respect at Pengy.ORG. If you find something written here disagreeable, you have two choices.

  1. Respond in an intelligent manner and present your disenting viewpoint
  2. Get out of Dodge before Marshall Dillon shoots holes through your body(see left)

If you choose number one above, you may exercise your first admendment rights, and do so by sending your response to the site using the "Thought Response" email link on the right. Include a subject that is the title of the thought to which you are responding. I'll read them even when they disagree with what I say. Don't be anonymous; anonymous comments are of little value. Have some pride and stand up for that in which you believe. Please do not whine your opinions. No one has time for that. If your comment is well presented, I might post it in the response section so others can read it and learn from what you have to say. If it's gibberish, puerile, or uses swearing because your low I.Q. doesn't allow for the formation of a complete thought, it will simply be deleted (unless I decide to make it into an example).

Let's have some fun! If we're lucky, we may just learn a thing or two.
